Sustainable booth for Oil Spill Conference
Minimizing environmental footprint with cardboard design

Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL) is the largest international spill response organization in the world, providing its members with quality equipment training, consulting and rental services around the world. In May, they participated in the triennial International Oil Spill Conference in Long Beach (California) along with its partners IPIECA, Sea Alarm, and Global Response Network. The event is a vital forum in which the private sector, government, and NGOs come together to improve knowledge and understanding of oil spills. The organization wanted a booth to attend the event which did not generate a lot of waste, thus minimizing its environmental footprint. Therefore, he contacted us to create a booth as sustainably as possible without leaving the design aside.
Inspired by the geometric design of PixYZ Software’s GDC booth, we created a space of 36 m2 that captured the attention of attendees. Undoubtedly, the back wall of the stand was the protagonist. We made a wall composed of triangular modules where two tv sets were embedded, thanks to an internal structure supporting the screens. The back wall was decorated with the corporate colors and logos from the 4 booth organizations.
We created individual counters so that each entity had its own space. We design some standing desks similar to those of we create for Arduino at Maker Faire Rome, but with a closed front. There were also two counters which were placed in the main stand space.
