A paper booth designed for Flint Paper Battery

We designed a 56 sqm trade show booth for Flint Paper Battery at CES in Las Vegas. We developed this project for a client we had already worked with on several projects, including another edition of CES. Thanks to this shared background, we defined the brief quickly from the start. Flint asked for a stand that respected the visual language we had previously developed together.

At the same time, the space needed to reinforce the natural, ecological and sustainable values of their brand. Therefore, our goal was to create a functional paper booth that could clearly explain the product, support the commercial team and stand out in a demanding international context.

Technical decisions shaped by the space

At CES, the stand occupied an island plot open on all four sides. As a result, visitor flow was constant and multidirectional. To respond to this condition, we placed the upper volumetric elements on the sides where Flint wanted visitors to enter. In this way, the design helped respect the predefined exhibition route

During development, we built a full scale prototype of the main constructive detail. This prototype focused on one of the structural columns that supported the work surfaces. Since the design relied on repeating this element, validating it ensured the system worked as a whole

We produced the entire stand using 10 mm structural cardboard, mostly in kraft finish. This choice reinforced the natural and sustainable character of the project. In addition, the layout included four working and exhibition surfaces, storage space and a rest area.

From Gardens by the Bay to CES

One of the most distinctive aspects of the stand was the set of vertical elements that shaped the space. These elements created the feeling of walking through the Gardens by the Bay and its forest of giant trees in Singapore, where Flint is based. This reference gave the booth a strong identity and an immediate visual impact.

Beyond aesthetics, the vertical structure created a high ceiling plane. As a result, the brand logos became visible from a distance. Moreover, the structure helped generate a more intimate atmosphere within the industrial environment of the fair. It also allowed us to integrate overhead lighting in a clean and controlled way. Overall, the stand attracted attention and received strong interest from visitors throughout the event.

Flint and Cartonlab share paper as their foundation, and this helped us to understand each other and work together so pleasantly.

Co-founder and CEO of Flint Paper Battery, Carlo Charles, tells us about his experience with the booth.

Designed for interaction and demonstration

We conceived the booth as a space that encouraged real interaction with visitors. The four worktables acted as clear points for demonstrating the specific features of Flint’s batteries. They also supported technical conversations with potential clients.

Meanwhile, we concentrated storage and rest functions on a central island. The lower section housed generous integrated shelving. Above it, the upper surface worked as a support area for short breaks and daily tasks. In addition, we complemented this island with tall cylindrical stools to improve comfort for the team during long working days. As a result, the system proved robust, easy to use and fully reusable, both during the event and for future editions.

A shared commitment to sustainability

Flint expressed a high level of satisfaction with both the final result and the development process, as mentioned in the project video. Visitors also responded positively to the space. In particular, they highlighted its clarity, material honesty and distinctive atmosphere

We built the stand entirely from FSC certified cardboard, making it fully recyclable and reusable. Therefore, the material choice reflects a shared vision between Flint Paper Battery and Cartonlab. Sustainability is not an added feature, but a core design principle

Ultimately, this project shows how responsible material choices and thoughtful design can work together in a demanding trade show environment.
