Big Cardboard Animals. Custom design for your events.
Your favourite animal designed in cardboard
Think of the animal you like the most, or the one you need for your event. It’s sure to be in cardboard. And with that attractive polygonal look we call low poly.
The catalogue of species is constantly growing and many creators interact with the production centres to materialise their designs. In Cartonlab, for example, we design our own animals but we also work with Paperpetshop, the brand of designer Bryan Mc Swiney.
Knowing the process will help you decide. We explain it to you.
Size and shape matter, if they matter to you.
Not only do you get the low poly cardboard animal you can think of, you can also get it in any size. The design (or adaptation) process allows you to scale the pieces to spectacular dimensions.
When we start from scratch with a custom design any customization is possible. Knowing the needs, we just have to cover them with creativity. We choose a type of animal, its size and even the finish, which can be close to its real appearance or apply a bit of fantasy.
If what you need is to adapt an existing design, we can also do that. In that case, from a 3D file:
- We generate a simplified figure in polygons.
- We create a two-dimensional folding plane.
- We divide it into parts.
Optimized production for a smooth assembly
Once the parts have been distributed on cardboard sheets, we cut them with a CNC machine. This is a computer-controlled cutting device with which we leave the die-cut material ready for sorting and packaging.
We number each piece and make an assemblyguide to make the process as easy as possible. By packing everything in flat packs, it is easier to transport and we avoid unpleasant surprises. Once received at its destination, it is time to glue the parts with patience.
Fill any space with wildlife
The application of a low poly animal design on cardboard will depend a lot on your needs. Don’t hesitate to specify which characteristics are ideal. We can customize the size and shape, but also the finish, applying color or other printed or die-cut details.
Keep in mind that low poly animals generate a high impact in the space where they are placed. It is very easy to develop empathy with a giant penguin or a family of bear cubs. Your proposal will attract attention as soon as there is wildlife involved.
Events of any kind, theatrical or musical performances, decoration for shopping malls… There are many possible locations and a great capacity to adapt to the space through design.
You can even turn the assembly into a didactic experience by organizing a low poly animal crafting workshop. It’s a great way to have fun, learn and work as a team.
So now you know, if you have in mind to incorporate low poly animals to your event, decorate an establishment or set up an original scenography. Even if you want to learn or teach how to make this kind of pieces, look for us. Our house is open.
